Deanne Lacoste has served as principal of Fisher Elementary School since 2007. Mrs. Lacoste is a former Special Education Teacher. During her tenure, Fisher has increased its student population from 185 students to 220, added two new playgrounds and developed a pre-Kindergarten program for students ages three and four.

Located in the southwest corner of Vermont, Fisher offers a Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 education to 220 students who live in the communities of Arlington and Sandgate. Fisher Elementary School is part of the Battenkill Valley Supervisory Union which includes the Arlington and Sandgate school districts.
Curriculum and planning goals are shared at the K-2 and 3-5 levels with an overall mission of “creating an instructional process whereby all students are able to achieve their academic potential.”

Arlington is located in the southwestern part of Vermont in Bennington County, 20 minutes north of Bennington and 10 minutes south of Manchester. Beautiful mountains surround our community of about 2,500. The school districts of Arlington and Sandgate comprise the Battenkill Valley Supervisory Union. Arlington and Sandgate are known for being home to many famous artists including Norman Rockwell, Don Trachte and Gene Pelham as well as author and educator Dorothy Canfield Fisher. Fisher Elementary School was named in her honor in 1958. The school was expanded in 1968 and again in 1993. A new playground was added in 2014.
